Checking Bus Times

The real-time display is just reliable enough that you gain some confidence in it, before there's that one bus that you see getting closer and closer and then 'due' before it disappears from the screen altogether, never to be seen again. It's such a tease. If the bus is transmitting its GPS position, where does it go? Has anyone looked into this mystery? Surely someone has noticed that all these buses have gone missing? This poor woman was very confused.
