The Beast from the East has arrived

A cold, snowy/sleet start to the day. So what the weather forecasters have been predicting for at least a couple of weeks has now arrived.

Today has seen a rise in the number of birds visiting the garden. At least over 20 from a variety of species. Sadly the partridge family has been reduced from 7 to just 1. They managed to stay together for such a long while but with the onset of the colder weather their numbers were whittled down.

Today’s Blip is just one of the visitors who clung on to his perch whilst it snowed.

The inter club competition v Leamington last night was interesting with some excellent images on display. Leamington won the print section and our club won the DPI section but lost overall by 18 points.

I thought we did extremely well given Leamington are a big club ( circa 90 Members )  and we have about 12 members at the moment. I was surprised that the judge checked the back of the prints before the start and a number of our oppositions submissions had labels on with the awards the print had received in accreditation or other competitions.

Still my take away was that Leamington had prints of a Squirrel and two long tailed tits The judge thought to have two long tailed tits was very good as it was difficult just to get one. So maybe my image of 7 of them could be used next time.

Still in Blip catch up and doing some work for Mrs C so lots to keep me occupied.
