Bolton backstreet!

Ro scrapped his car and today is the day it gets repaired.  We drove in to the repairers place and walked into the centre.  Our path led through areas we had never been to, under an underpass and on up a road leading past the Parish church.  We carried on to the Market place where we had breakfast in Costa!  I had a cinnamon teacake which was Roland's free birthday treat from them and he had a sausage bap plus drinks.

By then everything was open and we had a look at Marks. (extra) They are closing in about a month.  It's the last department store in Bolton.  Even Argos has gone.  Then to the library and walked on to the Olympus where we had a lovely lunch.  Even here you could see signs of saving money - no music in the toilets!  Many years ago it was known for beautiful classical music.  They are celebrating their 35 years.

From there the bus station and on home by bus.  I was just thinking how slippery were the bus seats and holding on to Ro when the lady behind me fell off her seat landing on the floor!  I don't think she was hurt. A gorgeous little girl and her mother weren't far from us and her mother was keeping her entertained with lots of questions: 'What's white, furry and lives in the cold' a polar bear....
We finally arrived home just as the first snow began to fall!  It has stopped now.  I'm happy to report it has not stuck!
