Sliding into Madrid

I was assessing an online course this morning - run out of a centre in Athens, with tutors in Cordoba, Dublin and Saudi Arabia and Athens. I entered the Zoom room at 8.30am Spanish time and left at 12.45, after observing two lessons, sitting in on the feedback, meeting the candidates, provisional grades meeting and then feedback on the course. Bb was working online in the front room. Our train for Madrid left at 2pm. Bb had packed first thing this morning and I packed when I finished my online work today. We aren’t bringing much. We left the flat at 1.15pm and it’s only a 7 min walk to Sants Station. A very pleasant train journey. And then the fastest check in in the world at our usual hostal on Calle Arenal, less than a minute! The people know us and so don’t need passport numbers or anything. Our favourite room too! A quick turnaround and out for a Madrid wander. A drink on Plaza Mayor and then some food in this place here. Another favourite, on the corner of Plaza Opera, 2 mins from our hostal. Lovely to be back here and hoping for a good night’s sleep. Neither of us slept well last night.
