Southern Banksia

Our cruise ship, Coral Discoverer, is sheltering from bad weather in Adventure Bay on Bruny Island in southern Tasmania. Many famous early navigators also sought shelter and provisions here - see Wikipedia. Including the Frenchman Bruny d’Entrecasteaux after whom the island is named.

I photographed Banksia marginata on a visit ashore this morning.
