Port Stanley, Falkland Islands

Today we are visiting Port Stanley in the Falkland Islands.  The first inhabitant we met was a languid seal who was doing his morning yoga on the dock where our Zodiac landed (see extra).

We took a very interesting tour of the Falklands War battlefields with a fascinating guide who kept us hanging on his every word.  He really brought that period to life!  (He is also very lucky to be alive after he was bombed on his sheep farm by British forces who had been misinformed that the farm was occupied by the Argentinians!)

I loved the British phone booths in the center of town, and of course that cute penguin welcome sign, so all that bright red and cuteness combined with that lovely blue sky won first place in today's choice of blip entry!

Two days at sea in front of us as we set sail for South Georgia.
