The Hill House

A visit today to The Hill House in Helensburgh.

One of the most famous of architect Charles Rennie Mackintosh’s works, it was commissioned by Glasgow publisher Walter Blackie in 1902. Due to water ingress and the risk of further damage, the National Trust for Scotland has taken the novel step of surrounding the building by the Box.
Main image shows one of Mackintosh’s now-iconic chairs.

Extras: The Drawing Room; Stairwell; bedroom window shutters; Main bedroom; ceiling light; House view from the Box walkway; view from the Box walkway over Helensburgh & the Clyde.
