chard soup

Oriental Chard Soup 
for 2

a small bunch of rainbow chard, chopped
half an onion, chopped
2 small potatoes, peeled & chopped
homemade chicken stock
grated rind of a lime
small bunch of fresh coriander, chopped
turmeric
ground ginger
kashmiri chilli powder
black pepper
salt
a dash of double cream

separate the chard stalks from the leaves
heat olive oil in a large pan 
sweat the onion and chard stalks for a bit
add the leaves, potato and the stock
simmer until the potato is cooked.
add a teaspoon of turmeric, and one of ginger,
a generous half teaspoon of the chilli powder,
salt & pepper and a bit of cream.
allow to cool
whizz up in a blender along with the grated lime &
coriander.

it was tasty.
