"...with a bump"

After such an exciting weekend it was bound to be back down to earth with a bump today, grey London and a cold office certainly sorted that out, but everybody was interested in what we'd done so that was good.

Somebody once said to me, when I'd said that I''d never wanted to be ordinary, "Oh Robin, but you can be ordinary all week and then be extraordinary at the weekend", which I think is worth keeping in mind.
