Just the Withers......

A real sanctuary ..

There are many elephant ‘rescues ‘ in Asia … many of them are not rescue / sanctuaries at all . They allow breeding on the premises and visitors go and frolic with little baby elephants… this is NOT a rescue … it’s still exploitation. They are still not free or completely happy and shouldn’t be man handled by humans , albeit they are not suffering like other elephants.
Eve did an awful lot of research about where to go and ended up at one which is rather lovely , you are not allowed to hang out up close with them but you can feed them and if they want to they will give you the once over with their trunks . This one she is pictured with is called Drama Queen.
There is one elephant on the entire reserve who has not been as traumatised by humans as the others and she will stand and let you stroke her … Eve couldn’t spell her name so we called her Mary .

ANYWAY - if you should be visiting elephants you know now that a proper place that cares does not let you hang out with them Willy nilly !!! pass that info on if any of your friends are off to places like Thailand x
