And lastly

It was a long journey home.  We left the hotel at 2 pm with eleven pick-ups on the way.  Las Palmas airport was heaving and there were long waits at the check-in desks, with no seeming co-ordination.  Security was chaotic.  We were told to hurry along, with no time to empty out phones, laptops or cameras.  I did manage to extract all my cables.  However, we were both sent back and scrabbled to extract said items.  I was also made to drink the remainder of my water, in spite of leaving 100 ml., just to be awkward.

Flight delayed due to the French air traffic controller’s strike, although we were eventually given clearance once a new flight path had been agreed, which took us out of the reach of the French and brought us in over Cornwall.  We landed in Luton at 11 pm, where it was raining, and were bused to the terminal.  Long queues at passport control as per usual, and then the tedious wait for baggage.  Found the car and arrived home at half past midnight.

Last lot of extras added.
