Behind the Scenes

The Commonwealth Flag for Peace was raised in Leeds today. The Lord Mayor was ably assisted by a Town Cryer, a Bugler, a Piper and a daredevil on the Civic Hall roof in windy conditions.

The flag is a symbol of shared values, principles and co-operation on economic and social development, diversity, respect, friendship and peace.
