Paging David Attenborough ...

What an amazing morning!  We anchored at St. Andrew's Bay in South Georgia and took the Zodiacs to shore to visit the most incredible King Penguin colony, teeming with these beautiful birds and also home to tons (literally!) of Elephant and Fur Seals.

None of the animals are the least bit frightened of humans, and we really had to step carefully to avoid bumping into all these curious creatures!  It really felt like we were in the midst of a nature documentary.

I took over 200 photographs this morning, and was spoiled for choice, but I did love these two affectionate Fur Seals, this elegant pair of penguins, and the bottom photo shows how crowded the beach was with both native wildlife and curious "red penguins!"

This afternoon, we are repositioning to Grytviken, where Shackleton is buried.  I think I will save some photos from this visit for one of the upcoming sea days we have in the not too distant future.
