Kirkcudbright Parish Church

Today's the day ...................... to gift 

This is St Cuthbert's Parish Church of Scotland in the centre of Kirkcudbright.

It was designed by William Burn in 1835.  Its foundation stone was laid on 22nd April 1836 and it opened for worship on 21st October 1838.  The site had been gifted by the Earl of Selkirk (the local Lord of the Manor) who also undertook to pay for the costs of construction, amounting to some £7,000 ................
