Wee lass with daffodils

This mural appeared last summer on a gable end across from my school. It is of a girl with some daffodils. The interesting (and it turns out entirely coincidental) thing about it is that the girl is the spitting image of one of our pupils. The locals knew her family and soon enough the local newspaper ran a wee piece on her with daffs in her hand. As the daffodils start to bloom across the street, the city, the country it makes the mural come alive even more. What was the shabby bricks and mortar has been transformed by art into something beautiful for the community and of the community. Perfect.
