Robert Burns Memorial Shelter, Prestonpans

Down in the 'Pans' for a dental check up and onto visit family.

The Robert Burns Shelter, using public subscription, was built by The Airts Burns Club members in 1959 to commemorate the bicentenary of his death. The Club was formed to promote Scottish literature.

To celebrate Burn's Night in 2005, The Prestoungrange Arts Festival commissioned Kate Hunter to create a mural within the shelter illustrating the poem of Tam O'Shanter
