Gushing and roaring

The level of the river Great Ouse is currently so high that some stretches of National Cycle Route 51 are underwater. Thankfully the flooding is not so deep as to reach the lowest point of my bicycle pedals, so I can still cycle through, though I must take care to avoid swans.
To lower the water-level in the centre of town, both sluice gates at the white water arena have been opened. Meanwhile, extremely high winds have been amputating significant limbs from mature trees all along my daily commute.
This is the moment where fallen branch meets weir, a yard or two before the white water sluice gates add to the churn.
