Wrung Out

I had a lovely phone call this afternoon

Them - "You're in meetings the whole time - it's difficult to get in touch"
Me - "I know, I preferred it when I could actually do some work and not talk about how we can work better together and what bit of pointless bit of documentation we should be working on".

The person who had called had been trying to solve a problem for 3 days and was at the end of her tether.  She called me and we had it fixed in 5 minutes.

Agile, no need for JIRA tickets, no need for a workshop, no BS.

I still find it odd I have never learned to swear in German.

My favourite swearing story comes from cricket.  The cricketer John Emburey (off-spinner for Middlesex & England) had a long standing back problem.  And there was a press conference:

Journalist "How's the back John?"
Emburey "The <effing> <effer> is <effing> <effed>".

Englisch can be so poetic.
