Lesser celandine

Not the sharpest of photographs - it was windy so the single celandine flower - the first of the spring was constantly vibrating but I was so pleased to find that I had to record its flowering.

A day which had been damp and gloomy until late afternoon when the sun suddenly appeared and the celandine bravely opened as in Wordsworth's poem:

The Lesser celandine
That shrinks like many more, from cold and rain
And, the first moment that the sun may shine,
Bright as the sun himself, 'tis out again.'
