Where there's muck ......

I was up in good time for the dishwasher engineer. It's the third visit in three weeks. The first visit was to identify the faults and order parts. The second visit last week was to carry out the repairs, and this morning's visit was to finish off what should have been done last Thursday.

Most of the internal doors at our house in Wales are fitted with these solid brass handles but some are in poor condition with old paint residues, scratches and chipped lacquer. I really like them and  have brought a couple over to see if they can be refurbished. I have tried removing the old lacquer with acetone and paint stripper and then polishing them using very fine abrasive paper and Brasso. Ultimately they will need re-coating with lacquer. It's very time consuming and messy but will be satisfying if it works out. 

I washed the car late morning before the rain arrived and took a short walk this afternoon.
