Rock and Hop

The Caroline Bay Rock and Hop is a four-day festival of nostalgia with a '50s,'60s theme, featuring over 1000 cars, caravans and motorbikes from all era's.  This kicked off yesterday with them cruising (some faster than others) around the local Levels Raceway.  A worthy fundraiser for Hospice.  Because of Covid this event didn't take place in 2020 and 2021.
Late this afternoon they cruised through the main streets of Timaru....a very relaxed affair, lots of fun was had, horns, yahooing, revving and even the high viz ladies got into the swing of it.  I've put a more boring collage in extra.
The cars then went out to Pleasant Point and on to Temuka.
Tomorrow is the Gala Day held at Caroline Bay, with many stalls, all the cars parked up for a closer look, rock and roll demo's and best of all (to me) the parade featuring the women (young and old) dressed in clothing of the era, beautifully presented with hair doos and makeup from the era.  I will be there with my 600mm all going well.

This morning our district Spinning/Craft group met at our local Harlau House Cafe, it was lovely to be together again as COVID put paid to our group meeting last year.  Excessive chatter and laughter.

Happy St Paddy's Day, its been a good day.
