Highland Games

OK, so I didn't really take this picture on 18th May - did you guess. It was taken on the last Saturday in June, sometime in the late 50s or early 60s at the Ceres Highland Games. They are the oldest games in the world, with 2014 being the 700th anniversary!

Apart from some different buildings, the scene hasn't really changed all that much since this photo was taken. We even still use the same poles for the Heavyweight Competitors to throw things over the bar.
