Fire-eyed Diucon

This delicately coloured bird is probably still adolescent as it does not have the characteristic golden eyes associated with the adult of the species, unless Photoshop did an automatic red-eye correction. In English it's known as the Fire-eyed Diucon (Sp. Diucón, Lat. Xolmis pyrope) and it's common enough in clearings in the woodland around here. This one was shot from right out of my study window (through two layers of double glazing) so I am quite happy with the pic.
