Serpent

…on the devil’s hillside, or Cuesta del Diablo in Spanish, on the Carretera Austral as we left the little town of Cerro Castillo today heading towards Coyhaique. We stopped at the top of this hill to view the snaking curves of the road below which were quite fun to drive up! As ever, the scenery is beautiful and the misty cloud hung about low in the valley.

In the extra, not just viewing the curves in the road but also our coffee stop, made from the back of our camper van and always a real treat. I also show one of the large boards to be found in scenic places along the road filled with every conceivable advertisement. It seems anyone can just add their sticker for any cause. This one was pretty filled up.

We’ll be in Coyhaique, the biggest town along the Carretera Austral, for a few days. We have to do our laundry sometime!
