The swan saga

We went to Strichen park with the dogs this morning.
Over winter, there has always been two swans there, but last week they went “missing”.
No sign of them this morning, but when we were walking well away from the lake, we heard the fantastic sound of swans flying and we saw two flying in the opposite direction to the lake.
But, as we returned to the lake, we again heard the swans flying, and when we reached the lake, there was one, but no sign of the other one.
The one on the lake looked rather agitated, fluffing his feathers up.
Was he trying to scare another one away or was he making himself more visible!
