Anne's Daily Encounters

Hands On

Walked up to Andreas for a beer and a chat and we recalled the days he'd planted his Almeriki trees on his yard here. They'd been chopped off tree branches and his dad had put them in pots with water to grow roots; one of the cut off tree arms they'd put upside-down in the water jar, nevertheless it grew roots too... and all 10 ot these new shoots grew into trees, just the one upside down shows its base is smaller than from the others.  Here he cleans up the table after guests had left... in April the Season with tourists is to start again, what means lots of work and "Hands On"

He's running this taverna now for more than 40 years ~ he was one of the customers of my ex (who had a one-man lemonade factory... I was his helping hand)
