First Sign of Spring

Only a couple of feet from this wonderful sight is a 3-foot snow pile.  Bless my intrepid Daffodils for making a valiant attempt at sprouting.  Sadly, the look forward is not encouraging.  Starting on Saturday night, it will be a week of cold rain and snow.  But my Daffs are not easily deterred.  I've seen them bloom right through the snow.  I, on the other hand, am seriously despondent.  A year without a true spring?  It happens.
