Biting the dust

I had an appointment in Huddersfield this morning so I parked the car near Greenhead Park and walked into town. The walk took me past the former Huddersfield Technical College site which has been empty and an eyesore for a number of years.

After the removal of asbestos, demolition is finally underway and the site will be part of a £43m redevelopment scheme which will include a new Lidl supermarket.

The former Huddersfield Infirmary buildings still remain. These are listed and will be turned into 229 apartments and an office complex.

Lawns cut this afternoon for the first time this year. Amazingly, the petrol mower started on the first pull.
