Pasque flower

True to form, this downy plant is emerging from the soil in preparation for flowering sometime around Easter, hence the common name for Pulsatilla. While doing a little gardening in a dry spell this afternoon, I cleared away the dead leaves and foliage from around the new growth and thought it looked lovely, dripping with raindrop jewels.
