A watery day, tears,rivers, rain,wetland, puddles.

So, the day began with some good news concerning a chronic health issue that one of our family is coping with. The glow of hope brought the sun out from behind the clouds and the gloom lifted from my shoulders. It sounds so dramatic but it’s how I work , unlike my beloved who has the capacity to put , even the largest of concerns, in a box and shelve it away.
It isn’t always ideal for our relationship to handle things so differently . After 41 plus years of marriage we are still working at it. Still sandpaper for one anothers rough edges.

News on Ruby the MH front is that the more Paul ,the welder, looks the more he finds that needs repairing. He doesn’t seem daunted though so that’s a relief.

As today was an Arthur day we spent the day focused on delights and living in the present moment. He was given a pair of binoculars for Christmas so we took him to a wetland area which has floating buildings, one of which is a cafe, bird hides and a challenging play area.
However, we hadn’t looked at the plan through to eyes of a small Arthur Bear who  is interested in how water moves , where it goes and of course DIGGERS! So after a failed attempt to bird watch we followed our small boy as he followed the course of a drainage ditch down to the River Ribble , which was in full flow, due to the heavy rains and then walked along it downstream and then upstream , when all at once Arthur spotted on the far side of the river some DIGGERS and other heavy earth moving machinery . Out came the binoculars  , we had clearly missed a trick !
Like a lot of us ,Arthur has been under the weather for weeks /months trying to shake of the remnants of this nasty virus which seems determined to cling on . Today , he seemed back to himself and ran then walked quite a long distance before needing a piggy back . The weather was changeable and we had heavy
intermittent showers , I sang the song “ rain, rain go away…..” Arthur thought it hilarious to change it to “Sun, sun go away ….’ But later he modified his song to something like
‘Rain rain stay today , sun sun don’t go , can we have a rainbow ,’ and not long after a rainbow did appear. I thought it was quite a creative to link the ideas in that way and also pleased that he understands the link between sun , rain and rainbows . I used to enjoy creating songs with the children I taught ,to help them understand and remember concepts in science. I do miss the creativity of teaching children in my particular way and am grateful to have time with both Arthur and Florence to plug the gap. I have worked with people from pre one year old to seventy plus and everyone responds well to engaging the “inner child.” You can’t go wrong.
So ,at the days end I can reflect back and say that I feel gratitude for,

Good news,
Time with Arthur Bear,
RubyMH being mended
