Darmead Memorial

I was in West Lothian combining a run and geocaching. There was a loop of many caches around the open land SW of Fauldhouse where there is a wind farm. I came across this monument which was ideal as otherwise I would have blipped the wind turbines.

This monument marks an isolated location where the Scottish Covenanters gathered at conventicles for religious worship between 1679 and 1988

Hunted by Sturart Dragoons they preached to large crowds and became martyrs in th struggle of the covenanters to establish civil and religious liberty.
