Fast Walking

UAt Frohring Meadows before the rain. Timed it just right. Two minutes after I climbed into the car, the downpour began. High winds arrived while I was in the woods and I scrambled out fast knowing they were  going to blast harder. I heard the sound of “crying” as trees rubbed against one another. A large limb broke and fell.

Peeps were peeping all over the ponds and meadow.

Later at home, the wind really kicked up (66 mph) and we heard a loud crack. It was the next door neighbors’ old sugar maple, shown in the extra.  What a shame, but it was in bad shape anyway. I called to let them know as they’re out of town. No damage was done to their house. Our county got hit the worst.
