wild & precious life

Change of plans

We had booked to spend the weekend away in the motorhome near our youngest at Uni. It wasn't meant to be this weekend...daughter had an opportunity to go to Dublin and we are, of course extremely mindful of Caesar, our GSD, who needs lots of TLC at the moment and who wouldn't find the steps in & out of the motorhome very helpful.
So we are staying home and relaxing...but we did decide to pop out briefly to see Ouseburn market for the first time. We were in Ouseburn on Wednesday and saw the posters for the market, so that gave us the idea.
The stalls were great (art, pottery, candles jewellery, cakes, vintage etc) and we spotted one of the Hairy Bikers chatting to the street food sellers. It was all very local!  We felt a bit too cold to eat 'al fresco' though, so we walked to 'Kiln'. The photo shows our oat milk flat whites in the pottery fired on the premises. The extra shows the market itself & also our delicious Egyptian beans on toast (ful medames) with poached egg, which was diet compliant :-)
Then we headed back home to light the candles I had bought, cuddle Caesar and share a very small treat from the patisserie 'Dreamworld' (as recommended by blipper @yellowballoon) - not diet compliant!!! :-) This was half of a Hungarian raspberry and custard slice. Lol.
