Mother’s Day Part 2

As we were in the Lakes last Sunday we marked Mother’s Day with Doreen today in her care home. It had the advantage of not being as busy and the flowers were of a more reasonable price.

Her next door neighbours visited as well to join us in an afternoon tea with scones, jam, clotted cream and, of course, the tea in the care home’s lounge.

After recovering from losing a hour’s sleep last night by having a brunch what remained of the morning was occupied baking scones and gathering together all the paraphernalia for tea.

We managed to get home at 7.00pm, making some use of the remaining extra light for a quick perambulation around the village
