Sad but True

Sunny Summer Days

It was a day for lazing about, a day for relaxation, a day for doing a lot of nothing - and not regretting one moment of it . Summer comes all too briefly up here and when it does we need to savour it and celebrate, never knowing when we might see it again.

Here's my youngest daughter doing just that. Her aim in life today was to finish her book ( which she did) , a Michael Morpurgo favourite of hers that she has read before. Complaining about the sun in her eyes she sat outside and wrapped herself in 'Kensuke's Kingdom'.

The rest of us read newspapers, magazines, drank tea, watered the plants in the greenhouse, visited ponies, revised (eldest daughter) and later enjoyed a Sunday Dinner, looking out into the garden and the gathering cool of evening, glass of wine in hand. Bliss!
