Scabious

A genus of plants in the Honeysuckle family. Sometimes called Pincushion flowers.
Scabious comes from the Latin scabiosus meaning mangy, rough or itchy. The plant was used as a folk medicine for scabies.

The flowers are rich in nectar and attract many insects including butterflies and moths such as the six spot burnet.
