Every which way

Even though part of the High Street is closed, on my way to work this morning I was very surprised to find the workmen turning the one way part of the High Street into a two-way.  

I asked about it and this guy told me that most people haven't been using it as they don't believe the signage!  I'm not surprised.  Things were back to normal by mid-afternoon and no accidents as far as I am aware.
