Love it or loathe it, today is the 50th birthday of the typeface Helvetica. Do check out the link to the BBC website if you want to join the surprisingly lively debate about it. Seems it rouses some strong feelings.

I've always been more of a Gill Sans man, myself.

Coincidentally, it's also my sister's birthday (she's considerably younger). So happy birthday Gail!
