Wednesday: Fernando And The Queen

I’ve have had a pleasantly full day out of the office today.  I spent a good portion of it down in Succotz, near the Guatemalan border, learning about the work of an environmental organisation there.  

Following on from that, I visited Fernando, a Cuban artist living in San Ignacio, who is painting 96 portraits of the Queen, focussing on her hats over the years.  He is just oddly fascinated by her……

Then this evening, I hosted a reception at home for about 30.  One thing I really enjoy about evening events is the after party with staff that we have in the kitchen.  It’s got to be a bit of a tradition.
