Whitefield Pond

As a change from boat work I went to Lennoxtown today to look at an exhibition  about calico printing in the library there. Our village also had a a calico printing works.  Then I went for a short walk round Whitefield Pond, named after the white calico which used to be spread out to bleach in the sun. The sun did shine today and these coltsfoot were a welcome sight along with coot, tufted ducks, mallard and a pair of swans. One swan was sitting on a nest remarkably close to shore. see extras
