Tiles

The Queens Hotel had a huge makeover when it was taken over by a big hospitality group a few years ago, but they missed the Sports Bar. I noticed today that a couple of layers of the side wall had been stripped back, revealing that the bar was an add-on, previously a butcher’s shop.

The fresh chickens sign is pre-March 1966, when decimal currency came in. Eight shillings 11 pence is almost $14 in today’s money, roughly twice the price of an industrially-farmed supermarket chook.

Thanks for hosting BikerBear and Marlieske.

Have a great weekend everyone!
