Lunchtime

Walking along the Pitt River, (named after William Pitt the Younger), this fellow was almost unaware of me, he was so engrossed in catching his fish taco. I don't know whether the log booms encourage small fish to stay in between them and the shore, but this heron must have taken 6 or 7 in the 5 minutes I was there. I don't know if it's my imagination or not, but log booms like this seemed to be everywhere when I first came to live here. Now, they seem to be less so. He would only let me get closer than about 30 yards so this is a very severe crop.

Ah well. Until tomorrow....
