Pistils And Stamens

On This Day In History
1917: Jeanette Rankin, first woman elected to U.S. Congress, assumed office

Quote Of The Day
"Men and women are like right and left hands; it doesn't make sense not to use both."
(Jeanette Rankin)

It was great to get back into the 22k runs again after a four week enforced break, especially with such magnificent scenery to enjoy.

I am so on board with Ms. Rankin. I simply cannot agree with feminists who assert that the world would be a far better place if women were in power. No, we would just have a different set of problems. There are just as many great male leaders as there are terrible ones, and we have had our fair share of dreadful female leaders just as we have had outstanding ones. As we were implored so often on Sesame Street, "Let's cooperate!" After all, this scenery could not have been created without left and right working together.

"If we put our heads together,
We’re gonna figure it out."
That's Cooperation
