Derelict Patagonia

The clocks went back last night in Chile so we had an early start with sleepy, deserted town streets and a real autumnal feel in the air. The derelict van caught my eye in a back yard. It was certainly someone’s dream camper, hippy adventure vehicle a while back, now happily sitting amongst the lush Patagonian vegetation.

  - We walked to the northern part of the town where an area has been preserved as a memorial to the 2008 volcanic eruption, with a small museum giving information about the volcano and stories about the effects on the town. Several houses (see extras) have been left in a derelict state as a memorial.

- Trendy restaurant, traditional food, and the Volcano Corcovado is 32 km away:-)

Thanks Marlieske.
