The Scottish Government's Deposit Return Scheme really shouldn't be a matter of controversy (as opposed to some questions and negotiations over details) but.......

These steps in Stevevlaw's Close provide a comfortable resting place for one of the oh so many thousands of bottles and cans that litter our streets (and note the bin conveniently located above). Collecting bottles to get the deposit back was the norm in the days before plastic, of course. 

Just beside the Close is Tron Sq, one of the earliest examples of deck-access housing, built by the City Engineers in 1900.
