HEY! I'M TALKING TO YOU!

It's mono Monday and the theme is Communication.

This is a Great Heron (Ardea herodius).  When one thinks of communication these days, cell phones come to mind.  Or TV Commercials. But animals have been communicating since the Year 1 without either of those two modern conveniences.  Think of your dog wagging its tail.....it's talking to you.  Think of birds "singing" in the Springtime.....they're communicating with other birds.

This heron is talking to me with his eyes.  He saw the fish I was unhooking and his eyes were telling me that he was thinking about breakfast.
