Smelt

This morning, I read there was a smelt run on the Sandy River, so we headed over to see it. But, we missed the main part of it where crowds of people had stood on the shore or waded into the river with buckets and nets to scoop up the small fish. I'd heard about smelt runs, but this was the first time for me. There sure weren't the hundreds and thousands pictured online, but it was a thrill to see these few.
