All Roads Lead to Rome

Ponte Augustus is a Roman bridge that goes over the river Nera in Narni Scalo, it is part of the Via Flaminia, which in Roman times went from Rome across the Italian peninsula to the Adriatic coast in the east. We took the day off from school to hike up to the hilltop Medieval town of Narni (yes, of CS Lewis fame). Our hike started at the Ponte Augustus. Extras: Looking down from Narni, is the Abbey Cassino tucked on the hillside. Mike noticed that the 14th c wooden baby Jesus in Madonna’s arms was giving us the finger.
