Alternative Coronation party preparations

This morning I went to Linda’s Mum’s funeral. She was 97. As Mr C needed the car for his hearing test, I got a lift with Colin’s brother who had come up from Gloucester. It was a humanist ceremony conducted by a friend of Linda’s who had also done Linda’s first husband’s. She did her proud. Chris and I went to the funeral tea with several other of Linda’s friends.

Mr C was not happy with Specsavers hearing test. He could hear noise from upstairs and in the next room so the sound proofing wasn’t good. He’s not deteriorated much in the last 2 years they say, yet he (and we) think it has got a lot worse. Specsavers and Boots only do a 3 point test whereas the NHS one is 12 point - whatever that means, but the GP thinks he should just hold on for the NHS test. Apparently the NHS aids are just the same as the private ones so he may as well save £3000.

I’ve invited a few people to come round on Coronation day as Chloe and David are escaping from London to join us, all being well with her after the radio-therapy. We’ll eat, drink and be merry and make light of the whole charade. I’ve just made this little quiz. Match the titled personage to his/her photo and give their real name. Have a go if you like - you might have to be a Brit of a certain age though. (I know the maker is now the previous one).
