Quod oculus meus videt

Stanage Edge

A truly glorious day and a walk in the Peak District.  We started from Grindleford Station before heading up through Padley Gorge to Surprise View.  From there we headed across passed Higger Tor to Burbage Rocks before starting the long edge walk of Stanage.  This was just passed Robin Hood's Cave where we watched a couple and their tutor practice abseiling down the sheer cliff edge.

From there it was down to Hathersage before a riverside walk of the Derwent until we returned to the car.  In the end it was just under 12 miles in cloudless skies and a keen breeze which kept it comfortable from getting too hot.  It was also the first walk in shorts this year.

A walk that was good for the body and soul.
